suffrir

SUFFRIR - from Old French/Latin 'to bear': to undergo, experience, be subjected to.
I take this to mean something about the basic experience of being - a neutral state, as opposed to the modern connotation of suffering as being something inherently negative, burdensome and heavy.

Ink on a wood block - SOLD

traum

I just moved home again.  I feel like a bonsai that has been re-potted. This is possibly what it looked like when I was feeling it.  A pen sketch on an old wine box

'Traum' is German for 'dream'. Is it somehow related to the Greek 'trauma-matos' for 'wound'?

film evenings at The Studio - Friday nights

My studio Letsleepingdragons is housed within the 6 x 6 sq. metre walls of The Hearth of Cintsa Studio Gallery + Project Space in Chintsa East.  This is where I do most of my own art work, and I co-curate The Hearth as a 'gallery' and use the space as a classroom to teach drawing. The space is also host to a number of public events such as live music and, most popularly, our Festive Friday Film Evenings.

Visit the Film page on the website to view the film screenings for this coming season and join us if you can for some great art and other alternative, non-mainstream film!
